Founded in 1565, the City of St. Augustine town plan was originally laid out in the late sixteenth century for foot traffic, for walking. Due to the narrow streets, parking in downtown and downtown neighborhoods in St. Augustine has always been at a premium.
Parking lots are located throughout the downtown area and on-street parking is available in may areas. Some areas require payment for parking with an pay-station and others with meters.
